過去何度か不定期に行って来た音楽講座の”音子屋”ですが次の開催が決まりました。

池袋コミュニティ・カレッジというカルチャースクールよりお声を頂いたので３回ほどやらせて頂きます。

これまでの流れとしては西洋のグレゴリア聖歌や日本の声明あたりの話からだいたいフランス近代,印象派あたりまでを話してきました。２０世紀に入りそれまでの西洋音楽史にあまり登場してこなかった国々の音楽、Jazz,映画音楽etc..新たな様々なジャンルの音楽が登場してくるのですがそこまでたどり着けなかったのが個人的には悔やまれます。

今までは毎回２時間程度でしたので寄り道しがちでおしゃべり好き（音楽に関しては）な僕としてはそれが原因かなとも思っております（苦笑）。最後の方は毎度駆足で終えるといった事が多かったので今回はじっくりそれぞれのジャンルについて話が出来る様に３回にしました。

そしてこの３回は今回から参加した人、今まで参加してくれた人、どちらの方でも楽しめる様に実演を取り入れようと思っています。

まだどの曲達を使うかは決めてはいませんが、例えば”A”という曲をグレゴリオ聖歌風に、モーツァルト風に、ワーグナー風に、ドヴュッシー風に、はたまたビートルズ風に、ブラジル音楽風に、Jazz風に、ハリウッド映画風に、最新のダンスミュージック風にと、まずそういった音楽を聞いて、なぜそれがその時代の音楽風なのか、その時代の音楽風に聞こえるのか、そういった視点から音楽の歴史を見てみようかなと思っています。なので話がチンプンカンプンでも音楽だけ聞きにくるのもありかもしれません。さすがにコレはCDではリリースしませんので。またそういった実演の際に楽器についても少し触れる事が出来たらより良いなと思っています。

様々な音楽書を読んでも中々幅広く様々なジャンルを縦横無尽に行き来してくれる音楽書というのがありません。そういった物があったらとても良いのになと昔から常々思っていました。クラシックの流れの学術書のような音楽書はとてもアカデミックで門前払いをされてしまう様な印象すら受けてしまうし、ロックやポップス、ましてやダンスミュージックなんてもの逆にそういったアカデミックな音楽に触れる事は少ないし。音楽というのは非常に不思議で音楽という一つの言葉でまとめられているのに全く交わる事がないわけです。無理して交わる必要も無いのですが色々知る事によってまた音楽の楽しみ方が変わると思います。ひょっとすると時々僕が夜中にtweetする”寝れない人への処方箋”の効きもより良くなるかもしれません（笑）。僕より優れた先生方は山ほどいると思いますので僕は僕なりの視点で音楽の面白さを伝えていけたら良いなと思ってます。

なんと野外でした。

I have hosted music lectures “Oto-Koya” at random times in the past few years, and I am informing you that I will do it again from June 16, 2013.A culture centre, called Ikebukuro Community College, offered me this opportunity, so I will have lectures three times.

In my previous lectures, I have presented and spoken from the Gregorian chant, or Japanese Buddhist chant called “Shomyo”, through the French impressionist music. Entering into the 20th century, various new musics had appeared such as one in some countries that rarely turned up in the Western music history, Jazz, cinema music, and so on, which I personally regret that I could not reach to the point in the past lectures.

Until now, every lecture was two hours, and I assume I sometimes rambled during the class and talked a lot (especially about music), which might be reasons why I could not reach there. Thus, I will allocate three times for this time to speak each issue in detail, because I rushed to finish at the end of the past lectures.And also for this time, for those who come at this time, and the attendees from the previous lectures, I would like to include some performances as both of you can enjoy.

I have not decided yet which tunes will be taken for the lectures. Though, at first we will listen to tune “A” and then will listen to it arranged ,for example,by the Gregorian chant, Mozart, Wagner, Debussy, or by the Beatles, Brazilian, Jazz, Hollywood, and recent dance music, and see the music history why these come from that period or we can hear like that period music. So, the content may not make any sense for some of you but worth to come to listen to only the music, perhaps. I may not sell the CD which contains the music used in the lectures. And, during the performances, I hope to mention instruments, as well.

Although there are diverse books of music, I have rarely read the one that widely argues with crossing borders of music sections from one to another. I have longed for such a book at all times. I had studied classic music for many years but  when I read an academic book of classic music, sometimes I have a sort of impression that I get turned away at the door. On the other hand, rock, pops, and dance music do not interact with the academic music so much. The music is really interesting that it is circled by one category as” music” though cannot be crossed within itself. There is no need to force for jointing, yet you may have changes for appreciating music, with knowing lots of things. Maybe, you could listen to tunes introduced by my tweet called “A Prescription” at midnight, more better than before. I guess that there are a lot of better teachers than me; therefore, I would like to show you a fun piece of music in a separate view on my own. Please click here for the details. Lastly,What does “Oto-Koya” mean?

“Oto” means “Sound” and “Koya” means like “House” or “small private school” in japanese.
