Tower Recordのトークショーをしながら”Tiger eyes”という曲が出来た経緯を思い出したのでちょっと書いてみようかなと。

Yesterday I had a talk show about the latest album “Jazztronik Studio Live Best” at Tower Record in Shibuya and had remembered how i made “Tiger eyes” which is popular among my fans.So I’ll write about how.

”Tiger eyes”は多分Jazztronikの曲の中でもかなり人気上位の曲だと思うのですが、実は元々は”七色”のセルフリミックスを作るつもりでスタジオに入ったら出来た曲なのです。”Tiger eyes”はずっと同じピアノのフレーズとストリングスのフレーズがループしていてそのループの上に歌が乗っているという曲。そして僕がJazztronikで発表した日本語での歌モノの中ではA-B-サビの様な展開がそこまではっきりとはしていない曲。これは前述の通り”七色”のremix,DJがかける様ないわゆるトラックものを作ろうとしていたからなのです。

First of all,I was to make self remix of other Jazztronik japanese song “nanairo”.Wanted to make the version for DJ.That’s why “Tiger eyes” is based on a Loop of a strings phrase though usually almost all Japanese songs have the structure like A-B-C.Take it as the “C” is same as “Chorus” of  like US,UK,French song.

remixと言っているけど全然”七色”で聞いた事があるフレーズなんて使われてないじゃん、とお思いの方、もちろんいるでしょう。ちゃんと七色のフレーズを使っているんです。”七色”のサビの箇所ではストリングスが歌に負けじと動き回っているのですが実はこのストリングスが使われているのです！急いで書いたので汚いですが譜面です。上の段がストリングスのフレーズ、下がメロディ。

I think both songs are very popular among my fans.But you might not listen to both songs of “Tiger eyes” and “nanairo” because of the songs are Japanese song.So i wrote a brief score of “nanairo” and will tell you how i made by using the score below.The upper part is for strings,lower part is for the melody.I didn’t picked the melody up but the strings phrase for sample.You can see the phrase “C-C-E♭-F” in the score.I used it.Sampled it by MPC and transposed to “G-G-B♭-C”.Then tried to put different cord from the original one and added House Beat to it.If you have a chance to listen to them,please check the songs reading this blog.

“Tiger eyes”and “Nanairo” are like parent & child.

サビの最後の「七色にきらめく世界」というフレーズの裏、４分音符で『ドドミ（♭）ファ』と演奏されているストリングスのフレーズがTiger eyesの元なのです！！多分Tiger eyesではキーを変えているはずで『ソソシ(♭）ド』となっているはず、、、たしか。。。今手元に音源がなくて確認が出来ないのです、が、作ったきっかけは間違いなくこれです。このストリングスのフレーズをサンプリングしてストリングスがメインのHouseを作ろうと思っていたのです。サンプリングした後にキーチェンジ（転調）をしてそこに”七色”とは違う新しいコードを乗せて作り進めていたらなんだか良い感じになってきてそしてTiger eyesになったのです！実はその音源もどこかに残ってたハズ。見つかったら今度UPします。

ちょっと難しい話になってしまいましたが、どんな事がきっかけで曲が出来るかわからんもんです。”七色”と“Tiger eyes”は親子もしくは兄弟の様な曲という事です。
